Japans Expansion In the late 1920s Japan was struggling under the weight of her population and with the long-term affects of The Great Depression. With very little land and few natural resources, Japan felt that her only choice was to expand. At the time Japan controlled most of the economy of Manchuria, a region of China, and had a large army stationed there to control her interests in railroads, mining, and production. |
